I mean, I didn't, but the fear was still there" Rin confessed, tears starting to form in her eyes. I was sure that I was gonna lose you two. I didn't show it then, but I was scared shitless when she grabbed you and Mari. "Rin…is this about what happened earlier? With the mirror code girl?" the pink-haired girl asked. She couldn't deny that it was scary, but she knew Rin could defeat it, and she did, with style. It got pretty intense at one part where the villain, which looked oddly like Rin, grabbed her and Marija and threatened to shoot them with its glitchy pistol. Another villain from the mirror code world jumped into their world and they had to fight it off back to where it came from. What would she not understand? She thought about it for a little bit before remembering something. Silence took over as Buro thought over that statement. "Well, yeah, but you usually say hi to him. I just…needed some alone time, okay? That's not a crime, is it?" You know how he gets when he worries, right?" the girl replied, her nature and expression more quiet and nervous than usual. Ola noticed that you hadn't said anything to him when you got home and got worried. We just thought we'd come to check on you. "You do know I came up here to be alone, right, guys?" Both stayed silent for a while until Rin spoke up to convey her feelings. The duo sat on either side of the blonde, the bear on the left and the girl on the right. An upside down sugar-lover and her pet bear walked towards her with unknown intent. She could hear different footsteps approaching from the door, sparking her to tilt her head all the way back. Unfortunately, she wasn't, so instead of jumping, she simply recoiled and brought her arms behind her back to prop herself up a different way. If she were a free runner, she would see that as a challenge. She looked down for a second, staring nonchalantly at the steep drop that resided just past the short border. It took a lot for her to not fall asleep in this position. Slowly, she took a few steps forward to the edge of the roof and sat down by the border, propping herself up on her arms. Nothing in the bassist's mind was ever really calm, especially not on a day like today. For now it was time for some calm and quiet. She gave another sigh before taking out her phone and pausing her music. She half smiled at the effort before stepping out of the stairwell and onto the roof.įor a second, she just stayed by the door, watching the last day sun on the horizon above the cityscape. She heaved it open and grabbed a brick that sat close by, using it to keep it ajar. She started to hum to the tune as she climbed the last set of stairs in the building, right up until she got to the door leading to the roof. It was probably one of her favorite songs, no matter how much it reminded her of…things. With that small effort completed, she walked back to the stairs and began to climb once more, her mind dead set on going to the roof.Ī smile came onto her face as the song "Bad apple" came up on her playlist. She was confident that Buro had her key with her. The blonde paced out of the apartment and made sure to lock the door behind her. She gets annoyed very easily when she is distracted from her favorite vice. She thought for a second about checking on Marija, but decided against it since she probably had her nose in a book again. Rin just sighed and dropped her bag on the ground, turning in place to walk back the way she came. Seemed as though Buro had already gotten home and went into “fever mode” before Rin had arrived. Some obnoxious girl’s cartoon was playing at a decent volume on the TV on the opposite wall, and there were a fair amount of candy wrappers scattered around the place. She pressed the door open and entered the flat, the only immediate signs of life to be seen was Buro’s pet bear, Ola, who was asleep on the couch with the remote in a death grip. She chalked it up to one or both of her roommates/girlfriends being preoccupied with the idea of getting comfy in their beds to play video games or read. She stopped humming and walked to the door, which was strangely enough already unlocked and opened a crack. For as long as she could remember, she could always rely on music to help her push past any obstacles in her way, be them physical or purely imaginated.Īfter what felt like an eternity, she managed to get to the fourth floor, where her apartment resided. She hummed along to her “Rock Out” playlist, the only thing that calmed and centered her on days like today. Rin paced up the stairs of the apartment complex, monitoring each step as though she were in a dangerous, stealth requiring mission.
